Doce uvas (Twelve Grapes) bell and led bolls

What is it? questionmark

In Spain the typical celebration at new years midnight is to eat twelve grapes, one at every strike of the bell.
Wiki even has some pages of it https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doce_uvas and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twelve_Grapes

In order to achieve this celebration in places without a big bell in the square or TV, I have created this small project for it.

Yup that is a screw as clapper
Dong dong dong

For this project I’m trying out circuits.io

Arduino code questionmark

All the code can be found on my github: https://github.com/timdows/AMD/tree/master/GrapeLedsBell

It uses the Adafruit WS2801 library to control the string of led bolls.
Upon startup and in ‘waiting mode’ it runs the rainbowCycle in a quick finite state machine.
A push button starts of the program after 5 seconds.

The program expects that upon startup the clapper is against the bell.
It runs the first 11 times normal and the last time it hits the bell 5 times in a quick sequence.
Upon every ring a new led boll changes from red to green.

What could be better questionmark

  1. Have a countdown timer on it;
  2. Find cheaper parts.
