Install Ubuntu on my MacBook Pro

I have this MacBook Pro 16″ 2019 over here.
It has like 1TB disk and 32 gig of RAM

First, I’ll freshly install macOS itself, it is stating that it wants to install Catalina

After setting it up, it (of course) wanted to update

Following many of the online guides, the Ubuntu installation had to be flashed to a USB drive via e.g. balena Etcher

And tja… I have USB A and the MacBook has USB C

As noted, holding the command-r buttons resulted in the boot picker option

Next, the installation of Ubuntu was straight forward

I did pick the option to completely remove the macOS partition

Then followed the main issue, the keyboard, wifi and trackpad were not working.
I followed some manuals, cloned some github repos, but none of them resulted in the pherifirals working correctly.

The rescue came from this github page https://github.com/t2linux/T2-Debian-and-Ubuntu-Kernel
Resulting in sudo apt install linux-t2

Almost magically, everything worked.

The next comming days, I will figure out how to get the touchbar keyboard buttons working and test if the setup performs well (battery stats and stuff)
